I am long overdue on a post, so sorry! I actually have a few different posts in mind, ones that involve deep thinking and time to put my thoughts down in writing. Time for deep thinking and writing simply does not exist right now, so you're stuck with a few short updates and some photos instead.
Earlier this month we traveled north to Duluth for a weekend getaway. Oliver did really well staying at the hotel (only falling out of bed once -- good thing I had a bunch of pillows on the ground) and he enjoyed playing in the pool (at least playing on the steps where he could stand up). But the highlight of the weekend was our reason for going: Thomas the Tank Engine! He had a great time seeing the trains, seeing Thomas, riding Thomas and playing. We have lots of pictures but they are currently being held hostage by our traditional, non-iphone camera. As soon as they are set free I will share a few here.
Recently the Maple Grove Community Center held an event for kids that featured all sorts of emergency personnel, vehicles and activities. I feel blessed that Oliver got to go as it was during the work day, but Oma made sure he was able to spend a lot of time there. Thank you, Oma! Oliver had a blast and couldn't stop talking about all of the fun things he saw and got to do. Oma took some photos for us so we could see just how much fun he was having!

Finally, Tony was offered two tickets to the Vikings first pre-season game. It seemed to be the perfect opportunity for him to take Oliver to his first Vikings game. It sounds as though Oliver had more fun riding the train to and from the stadium (and he doesn't look all that happy in these photos), but Tony said it was a fun experience for them both. Oliver only last half of the first quarter, but maybe next time they will get to see more of the game.

| Tony insists he was having a good time, even if it doesn't look like it here. |

Okay, that's it for now. More to come soon, I promise!
